Self-Introduction

My Chinese name is Min-Chun Hsiao, and my English name is Paula. I come from Tainan, a little city in southern Taiwan. There are five people in my family; besides my father and my mother, I also have two younger sisters. I am nineteen years old, and I am now a freshman studying in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature at Feng Chia University.

Born as the first child under everyone’s great expectation, I was under strict education and was expected to perform well in every aspect. My parents cultivate me with appropriate attitude, and they never hesitate to correct me and teach me in the right way when I make mistakes. As to my learning aspect, they let me choose whatever I want to learn so that I can grow into an independent person and nurture my own ability of judgment.

I am an optimistic person, so I always look on the bright side of things, and I am not afraid of facing difficulties. Instead, I will try every way to make the tough across. As a result, I consider it my duty to do my best when being in charge of everything.

When I was an elementary school student, I met the most important teacher who inspired my interest in English and thus rooted my desire of learning English deeply. That is why I choose English as my major. As a result, I hope I can learn more knowledge and improve my English ability in every aspect in the future years of my college life.
